My 6-year-old has never had pizza, but he really wanted to try it. So I made one using the Broccoli Breadsticks recipe I posted last week. Now this pizza does not have your standard pizza crust, but a standard pizza crust is full of grains and it certainly can’t boast that it contains an entire head of broccoli. So given this disclaimer, we all enjoyed sharing a pizza dinner.
My 6-year-old went so far as to declare, “I could live on this stuff!” as he polished off four large slices. Even my toddler ate an entire slice. I think it’ll become a regular part of our rotation. And next time, we might even try adding additional toppings.
Vegetable Crust Grain-Free Pizza Recipe
1 Broccoli Breadsticks Pizza Crust (see recipe HERE)
Marinara sauce
Cheese, grated
Toppings, if desired
Make the pizza crust according to the Broccoli Breadsticks recipe. We spread ours thinner than we made our breadsticks, but still cooked it 35 minutes on a parchment-lined baking tray in order to have it turn out a little bit crispy.
Spread the still-hot crust with marinara sauce.
Sprinkle with grated cheese. Add other toppings, if desired.
Bake in preheated 375-degree oven (your oven will already be at this temperature from baking the pizza crust) for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Allow pizza to sit for a minute or two, so the cheese stays in place a bit better.
Slice and serve.
Enjoy!
