Springtime in the mountains of Colorado means that we’re as likely to encounter snow as we are to experience shorts-wearing weather. This means that our coat closet is currently stuffed to the gills with all sorts of light and heavy jackets. However, there are also items in our closet that shouldn’t really be there, such as some costumes and outgrown items. So today, I am tackling our coat closet in an effort to get rid of the excess and make it more navigable by everyone.
I want everyone in our house to be able to find what he or she needs quickly and easily. We have hooks down low so my boys can retrieve and put away their own jackets (this works better with my 6-year-old than with my toddler, but we’ll get there).
I ended up removing all of these extras from our closet, and while there’s still a lot in there (we are still living in Colorado mountain springtime, after all) now we can all find what we’re looking for quickly and easily.
Here is the stack of things I removed from our closet, including a rooster costume, an outgrown raincoat, some outgrown boots, and a bunch of outgrown hats and mittens.
