I love avocados. They are a staple in my house, and I eat them almost daily. I add avocado to salads, to burgers, and to eggs. I eat avocado by itself with a sprinkle of salt. But most of the time, I make them into guacamole. When we had a picnic in the park the other day (you can read about it HERE), we took along homemade guacamole with us. The following is a quick, simple recipe that may just have you eating guacamole frequently too.
Simple Homemade Guacamole Recipe
3 avocados
1-3 cloves garlic (I use 1 clove per avocado, but that may be too much for many people)
Salt, to taste
Cayenne pepper, to taste
Squeeze of lime, optional
After removing the seed and taking it out of its skin, place avocado fruit in a bowl.
Mince garlic, or press it through a garlic press. Add to bowl with avocado.
Add salt, cayenne, and lime (if using).
Mash avocado with the back of a fork. As you do this, the other ingredients will become incorporated into your guacamole. Mash and combine until everything is mixed well and your guacamole has reached your desired consistency.
Serve and enjoy.
